| Past Performance Highlights Grotto's Christmas Festival of Lights - December 23, 2011 We enjoyed performing for our eighth annual time at the Grotto's Christmas Festival of Lights. Music is truly a gift from the Lord, and it was a joy to share it with hundreds of listeners at the Grotto! Annual Holiday Concert - December 3, 2011 We held our annual Holiday concert at the Historic Atkinson Church in Oregon City. It was a beautiful venue and concert! This concert featured new wintertime arrangements of "Somthing Told The Wild Geese" and "O Come, O Come Emmanuel".
Bitterroot Scottish Irish Festival - August 27 & 28, 2011 Hamilton, Montana
Hayden's Helping Hands Benefit Concert - August 20, 2011 When our neighbors started a non-profit organization to help Oregon families with the medical expenses of a stillborn child, we wanted to help, and music was the resource at our fingertips! We had a lovely supportive audience and a great concert. Hopefully we'll do it again!
Joint Concert with the Voetberg Family - April 8, 2011
The Voetberg Family band of Centralia, Washington joined us in concert! All who came this concert know what a special treat it was! An exciting program featured Celtic songs, American fiddling, and Irish dancing.
Winter Concert Series - December 2010
S&A Irish Entertainment asked us to do a concert in Tualatin on December 11th, 2010. We celebrated the Celtic Christmas spirit in music! December 30th was our seventh annual appearance at the Grotto's Christmas Festival of Lights. (Pictured) On January 1st, 2011 we did our final Christmas concert for the season and rang in the New Year with music!
Summer Concert - June 4, 2010 It was a treat to play to a wonderful audience in Crossroads Coffee Cafe. We had a packed house, with standing room only! We featured new musical arrangements throughout the evening, and everyone loved the tasty food and drinks from Crossroads. We also debuted Krista's award-winning ensemble piece, "On Seaward Wings".
Christmas CD Relea se Concert - November 28, 2009 Once again our CD release concert was a dream come true. We had been working on our Christmas/winter themed album for a year, and the anticipation was high! We packed Gladstone Christian Church fellowship hall with nearly 300 people, so if we ever do another CD we'll probably have to look for a bigger place. The music was beautiful and it was special for us to have our recording engineer, his wife, and our co-producer share the stage for a couple of numbers. This was the only concert where we actually got to perform all the instruments on the CD - including bass recorder, soprano, alto, tenor and bass crumhorns, hurdy-gurdy and hammered dulcimer. We girls enjoyed our increased vocal harmonies and the audience loved every minute of it. It was an amazing evening and we praise God! Below is a video of highlights.
Oak Hills Presbyterian Church - January 2, 2009
This concert was the highlight of our 2009 Christmas performing season! We immensely enjoyed sharing the stage with the Knopp brothers: David, Joshua, Eric and Justin. Highstrung String Quartet played a set of Christmas favorites and classical string quartets, then we played our set of traditional and celtic Christmas music. We united at the end to play God Rest Ye Merry, Gentlemen and O Come All Ye Faithful. We had a wonderful time getting to know Highstrung - we shared many similarities as young homeschooled musicians. The audience loved every minute of it!
Pittock Mansion - De cember 12, 2008 We had a delightful time playing again at the mansion this year. Our dear friend, Kami, came along to do a much-needed photo shoot for us. (The only disadvantage to being young musicians is that you change so fast you need new photos every year!) We didn't have a lot of tourists come through, but that was fine with us because it made it easier for our wonderful photographer.
Sydney's Cafe - June 14, 2008 Performing at this modish coffee shop was a delight! We charged admission for the first time, planned two forty-minute sets, and waited to see who would come. The variety of music was fun for us to play, and we had an enthusiastic audience. Sydney's had a delicious selection of pastries and drinks for folks to purchase. I now know why Sydney's bakery is popular! We played many songs from our CD, a new Irish song we learned, Robert Burn's My Love Is Like A Red, Red Rose, a ballad, a jazz piece, modern folk music, Krista's composition and more! All blended together by our instrumentation and voices. As one of our guests said - if you weren't there, it is your loss!
Grotto's Christ mas Festival of Lights - December 30, 2007 For the fourth annual year we played a forty-five minute Christmas program on the last day of the Grotto's Christmas festival of lights. The Grotto is a great place for folks with children to come and hear us, as attractions include a petting zoo, puppet show, and short skit, and of course, lots of lights! This year we were delighted to perform for an audience of over two hundred! Pittock Mansion - December 23, 2007 Once again we enjoyed playing background music while hundreds of people toured Portland's historic Pittock Mansion. This year the decoration theme was "A Fairy Tale Christmas", and each room was decorated after a specific fairy tale or children's story. We wore our medieval costumes and matched the theme perfectly!
CD Release Concert - December 1, 2007 Our CD release concert was a dream come true! We were amazed to have over one hundred and fifty guests, half of which we didn't even know! The Gladstone Christian Church Community Hall proved the perfect casual, yet classy atmosphere. We had initially been concerned that the room had to much reverb, but Michael (our recording engineer) balanced us beautifully, and the room gave the perfect ambiance. The audience was warm and responsive, and we sang and played our hearts out. It was a night to remember. God truly blessed us abundantly!
